General Skin Health
Do you feel your skin looks dull or lacks radiance?
Understanding what is going on with our skin is sometimes half the battle in achieving a healthy glow. Why not consider a digital skin analysis, which provides images of the skin on the surface and below. Sometimes just upgrading to clinical skin care or having a clinical grade facial, can be enough to give your skin a more radiant glow.

Do you experience uneven skin tone or texture?
Uneven tone and texture is a common concern we see often in clinic. Regular exfoliation at home can help, alongside clinical grade skincare. In clinic, treatments such as SkinPen micorneedling or chemical peeling can be beneficial and provide a more even tone, especially with concerns such as pigmentation and photo ageing.

Lines & wrinkles
bothered by Frown & forehead lines or crows feet?
These 3 areas are probably the most bothersome for most people. As we age the skin loses its elasticity, we break down collagen and lose hydration from the skin. There are multiple treatments we can consider from device based, through to injectables. Popular treatments include polynucleotides for collagen stimulation or skin boosters for hydration. If you require prescription based treatments, such as toxin, please book in for a consultation.

Noticing lines & wrinkles around the mouth?
Smokers lines and mouth frown is an issue for a lot of people and a topic on discussion often in clinic. Skin dehydration is common around the peri oral area and can be a caquse of the lines above the lips, even for non smokers!!!! Loss of soft tissue volume in the upper face and gravity can cause lower face folds and shadows. Book in for a consultation to run through some options that could be right for you. You can also consider the options below.

Hollowing and sagging
ARe you seeing volume loss across the face?
As we age, we start to bresak down collagen, soft tissue and bone mass. When this happens, we can start to develop some flatness or hollowing in the face. Common areas incluyde the temples, cheek apex and cheek bone, chin and jawline. Other causes of this volume loss could be high levels of weight loss and the effects of medications such as GLP 1 injections, are causing, what is being termed ‘Ozempic Face’. To create facial harmony and balance, we would look to restore this lost volume and there are various options we can consider.

do you have lower face sagging and jowls?
The effects of volume loss in areas such as the temples and mid face can create lower face folds and shadows. Jowls and double chin are one of the most voiced concerns we hear about in clinic. Treatments such as collagen stimulating procedures or soft tissue filler can help to restore volume and tighten.

sun damage & pigmentation
Are you seeing the effects of years of sun damage?
Yes, at Craig Hobson Aesthetics our treatments offered are non-invasive.
The focus of the clinic is on providing non-surgical and minimally invasive procedures to help clients achieve their desired aesthetic goals.
These non-invasive treatments often involve the use of injectables, dermal fillers, skin boosters, and other advanced techniques that do not require surgical incisions or significant downtime.

DO you have pigmentation concerns such as vitiligo?
We are much more educated these days around the effects of the sun and the damage it can cause to the skin, especially the risk of skin cancer. This level of awareness has not always been the case and for many of our patients, myself included, the 70s, 80s and 90s were about the glowing tan and we did not necessarily take the precautions of using daily SPF as we could of done. Sun spots or age spots as we may refer to them are common and can be a cause of low self confidence in the skin.
For some people, pigmentation concerns have been part of their journey, with conditions such as vitiligo or dyschromia being present.
We offer various approaches to managing pigmentation and always suggest a skin analysis as a starting point. You can then consider some of the treatments options below.

Is sensitive skin a sensitive topic for you?
Sensitive skin is a condition characterized by heightened reactivity to various stimuli, leading to symptoms like redness, itching, and discomfort. Factors contributing to sensitive skin include environmental irritants, harsh skincare products, allergies, and underlying skin conditions.
One significant cause of sensitive skin, especially in women, is menopause. During this period, hormonal fluctuations, particularly a decrease in estrogen, can lead to thinning of the skin, reduced moisture levels, and increased susceptibility to irritation. This can exacerbate sensitivity and discomfort, making it essential for those experiencing menopause to adopt gentle skincare routines and seek products that provide hydration and nourishment to their skin. Understanding these factors can help individuals better manage sensitive skin and improve their overall skin health.

dry & dehydrated skin
is your skin dry and crepey?
Dry and crepey skin appears thin, rough, and less elastic, often displaying fine lines and wrinkles. The texture feels brittle, resembling crumpled paper, leading to a fragile appearance. Commonly found on the arms, legs, and around the eyes, it may have a dull tone, sometimes with redness or irritation. This condition can make the skin feel tight, especially after cleansing.
**Causes:**
1. **Age:** Natural aging reduces collagen and elastin production, resulting in thinner skin.
2. **Sun Exposure:** UV radiation can damage skin, leading to dryness and loss of elasticity.
3. **Environmental Factors:** Low humidity, harsh weather, and pollution can strip moisture from the skin.
4. **Hot Showers/Baths:** Prolonged exposure to hot water can remove natural oils.
5. **Skin Conditions:** Eczema, psoriasis, and thyroid issues can contribute to dryness.
6. **Diet:** Lack of essential fatty acids and hydration can affect skin health.
7. **Medications:** Certain medications can cause dehydration and dry skin.
**Solutions:**
1. **Moisturize Regularly:** Use thick, emollient creams to hydrate and protect the skin barrier.
2. **Sun Protection:** Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen daily to prevent UV damage.
3. **Stay Hydrated:** Drink plenty of water and consume hydrating foods to maintain skin moisture.
4. **Gentle Cleansers:** Use mild, hydrating cleansers that don’t strip natural oils.
5. **Humidifiers:** Utilizing a humidifier in dry environments can add moisture to the air.
6. **Healthy Diet:** Include foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins A, C, and E for skin health.
7. **Consult a Dermatologist:** For persistent issues, seek professional advice for tailored treatments.
By addressing the causes and implementing effective solutions, you can improve the condition of dry and crepey skin.

Acne & Congestion
Do you suffer from acne, regular breakouts, blackheads, or whiteheads?
Acne is a common skin condition characterized by the presence of pimples, blackheads, and cysts, often occurring on the face, back, and shoulders. Regular breakouts can manifest as red, inflamed blemishes, whiteheads, or deep, painful cysts. Skin affected by acne may appear oily and uneven, with enlarged pores and possible scarring over time. These breakouts can lead to emotional distress due to their visibility and potential impact on self-esteem.
**Causes:**
1. **Hormonal Changes:** Fluctuations during puberty, menstruation, or pregnancy can lead to increased sebum production.
2. **Excess Oil Production:** Overactive sebaceous glands contribute to clogged pores and acne formation.
3. **Bacterial Infection:** The presence of Propionibacterium acnes bacteria can lead to inflammation and breakouts.
4. **Diet:** High-glycemic foods and dairy may trigger or worsen acne in some individuals.
5. **Stress:** Elevated stress levels can promote hormonal changes that exacerbate acne.
6. **Cosmetic Products:** Heavy or comedogenic makeup can clog pores and lead to breakouts.
7. **Medications:** Certain drugs, like corticosteroids or some contraceptives, may contribute to acne flare-ups.
**Solutions:**
1. **Consistent Skincare Routine:** Use gentle, non-comedogenic cleansers and exfoliants to maintain clear pores.
2. **Topical Treatments:** Over-the-counter products containing benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or retinoids can help reduce breakouts.
3. **Moisturization:** Select lightweight, oil-free moisturizers to hydrate the skin without clogging pores.
4. **Healthy Diet:** Incorporate a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains while minimizing sugary and processed foods.
5. **Hydration:** Drink plenty of water to help maintain skin health and reduce oiliness.
6. **Stress Management:** Practice relaxation techniques, such as yoga or meditation, to manage stress.
7. **Consult a Dermatologist:** For severe or persistent acne, seek professional advice for tailored treatments, including prescription medications or therapies.
By understanding the causes and adopting effective solutions, managing acne and regular breakouts becomes more achievable, leading to clearer, healthier skin.
